Laminate care & maintenance
Although laminate is durable and easy to care for, it’s important to establish a good maintenance routine. With the right steps, you'll be able to keep your laminate looking and performing its best for many years to come.
Daily care & maintenance
Start by investing in and strategically placing doormats throughout your home to capture any dirt or debris before it is tracked onto your laminate flooring. Also, protect your laminate from denting by placing floor protectors under heavy furniture and appliances. Avoid dragging anything across the floor that will scratch or damage the laminate's surface. While scratch-resistant, laminate isn't indestructible!
Daily care should include sweeping, dry mopping, and vacuuming as needed. For a deeper clean, use laminate cleaning products approved by your manufacturer.
Dealing with spills and stains
Most liquid messes can simply be wiped away with a damp cloth. Be sure to address spills as soon as possible so that they don't become stubborn stains. When it comes to sticky or stubborn messes like spilled candle wax, chewing gum, lipstick, or olive oil, consult with your manufacturer’s guidelines for the appropriate cleaning steps.
